The security screener guy took away the toothpaste from my carry on. I didn't think about paste being considered a liquid. He tried to make a joke with me about it after he took it, but I was tired and nervous and really didn't find it all that funny. I figured they probably sell toothpaste in Hawaii, so if that's the worst thing that happened, I was OK with that.
Our seats for the flights had been booked separately. One ticket in business class, one in economy. But, we were extremely grateful to the nice woman who let us sit together in business since it was not full. This was the first time Chris and I have flown together. We got to hold hands during take off. I love looking out the window. It's like Google Earth in real life. I got to watch the sun rise up through the white clouds, which looked like a sea of cotton.
The flight to Minneapolis was about two hours. I think I actually dozed off for a few minutes, which is amazing considering my thoughts on flying. There was snow on the ground in MN, which was pretty cool to see knowing that we would soon be on the beach. As we got closer and closer to the ground, it started looking to me as if we would be landing in a pond. I kept thinking that I hoped there was a runway right in front of us, because all I could see was water, and, thankfully, the concrete landing strip was in front of the plane just out of my sight, so the flotation devices were not necessary.
