Day One--A Whole Lot of Flying
We didn't get to bed until, oh I don't know...1 a.m.? I'd packed two suitcases and zipped them up, ready to go by 11 p.m., then realized that my old suitcase had a giant rip in the fabric, making it unsuitable for checking, unless I wanted my unmentionables strewn all over the cargo part of the plane. I spent the next two hours testing various duffle bags, packing, unpacking, repacking, until I found a bag and configuration that worked. I then paced around the house trying to remember what I'd forgotten, which couldn't have been much, considering the weight of the bags. My alarm was set for 3:30 a.m. We were up and out the door by 3:45 a.m. Maybe I slept for an hour...maybe.Drove to Lawrenceburg and Dad drove us to the airport in Louisville. (Thanks, Dad.) I was very nervous about the flight. I think I was so nervous that I was calm, if that makes sense.
