After the beach, it was too late to attempt to get a ticket to Pearl Harbor, so we started heading back to Waikiki. We saw a sign for the Dole Pineapple Plantation and decided to stop. We had watched a TV program about this place on the History Channel not too long ago, so I felt pretty knowledgeable about pineapple farming. The guy who started Dole found his success by being the first to can pineapples. The Pineapple Express takes you on a little tour of the plantation. Of course, there is a cafeteria with all things pineapple. Chris got pineapple ice cream and I opted for the pineapple juice. We got to sample some very fresh pineapple. Yum!
